1. Pärla Hair

Kira of Parla Hair was my top choice for a hair stylist. Her looks are soft and clean looking, and I’m truly in love with every hairstyle she posts online. Sigh, she was of course booked on my day, so if you’re thinking of hiring her, contact her ASAP. Kira not only creates gorgeous looks that last, she is a genuine, fun person who I can only imagine would be an awesome addition to your special day. Kira also has a full collection of accessories you can borrow for your do.

2. Hair By Carm

Carmelina was another of my top picks for an Ottawa hair stylist. I was immediately drawn to the beautiful and clean looking hairstyles on both her website and Instagram page, as well as the diversity in her brides. Her work not only drew me in, she is definitely competitive in regards to pricing, and was one of the least expensive stylists I found. Once she advised that she was booked on my wedding date, she immediately recommended other local hair stylists, and was very pleasant to chat with.

3. TopKnot

Kirsty of Top Knot was recommended to me, and is a stylist that I reached out to for my own wedding. She showcases a number of different hairstyles online, including glamour style indicating just how versatile she is. Check out her website and Instagram for both simple and textured looks, including some awesome looking braids.

4. Pinned Bridal Hair

Angeline from Pinned Bridal wants to be there for your full wedding journey, and can help you achieve that perfect cut and colour before styling the day of. She showcases a number of different styles in her portfolio, including soft braids, chunky braids and half do’s. Another one of my local favourites, I booked her for my wedding! Stay tuned for photos online and feel free to ask me for a personal review after the day. She seems easy to work with and I’m excited to have her as part of my special day next year.

5. Portrait Salon

When looking at Candace’s online presence, you instantly see her personality and the various looks she can create. Bohemian, vintage, traditional… it’s all there and she can do it! I also reached out to her for my own wedding, and when she indicated that she was booked, she came back with a full list of referrals – so helpful. I particularly love this quote on her website, ‘I love hair like I love life; romantic, lived in, undone’.

6. Jacquie K.

With a portfolio of diverse looking brides, pops of colour and popular hair styles, Jacquie is both a talented hair stylist and makeup artist. Her website is full of useful resources, indicating her wealth of knowledge on all things wedding beauty! Jacquie’s portfolio features many beautiful hairstyles, including a number of different braided styles and loose curls. She works within both the Ottawa and Prince Edward County regions.

Pricing: Bride $150 on your day and $150 for a trial. Bridal party $125.

7. Show Pony Hair

Show Pony seems to be a popular one in the Ottawa region, and was referred to me by multiple people! They are clearly talented professionals, with experience to back them up. Not to mention, the fact that their hairstyles have been heavily published, appearing in a variety of respected publications. I love the clean, smooth look of their dos. Typically, stylists go on site for wedding hair service, but they also have the option to go to the studio.

8. Radiant By Raadhaa

Raadhaa is both a hair stylist and makeup artist in the Ottawa region, working in TV and print, in addition to bridal. Her portfolio showcases a vast variety of styles and looks, and is the only stylist I came across specifically offering ethnic bridal hair and makeup. If you’re having an Indian wedding for example, Raadhaa is definitely your girl! All reviews mention her kind personality and professionalism in addition to her work.  

Pricing: Ethnic bridal hair and makeup $375. Bridal hair and makeup package $250.

9. Freebird Beauty Hair Co

Alex of Freebird is an award-winning stylist, specializing in effortless looking, bohemian hairstyles. I love the look of the smooth buns, simple curls and feature braids in her photographed work. Freebird Beauty also offers the option of colour matching and purchase of clip in hair extensions, as well as bridal hair accessories. She is based in the Greater Napanee area, but will travel farther than PEC and Kingston for a travel fee.

10. Hair Creations By Isabelle

Isabelle’s photos and portfolio show everything from simple curls to intricate up dos. One thing that stood out to me is that she is a fully bilingual stylist! She offers in salon hair treatments including cutting, styling and colouring, in addition to her bridal work. If you’re looking to get your bridal hair done in her salon, Isabelle offers separate pricing compared to on-site styling.

11. RISE Hair Team 

Rise is a team of hair professionals, working out of their Centretown-based studio. You can book a styling appointment with them for any type of event, including your wedding day. Meet the team online for a clearer idea of who you’ll be working with and their individual specialities. They offer makeup services as well!
